TOWN of ROOSEVELT
Minutes of the
REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
Wednesday, October 9th, 2024
Timberland Lutheran Church, 20805 County Road H, Barronett

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Huber at 7:00 pm.

Present: Todd Coons, Lee Huber, Rebecca Odden, Tyler Odden, Serena Fankhauser, Wayne Romsos, Steve Madison, Eric Kaphingst (on the phone), 
Jason Towne

There was a motion by Todd Coons, 2nd by Lee Huber, to accept the minutes from the previous regular meeting. MC

Treasurer’s Report
Cash on Hand as of October 31, 2024:  $133,382.82

Clerk’s Report
Checks # 9214-9219 in the amount of $7,926.63 were presented for payment. There was a motion by Lee Huber, 2nd   by Todd Coons to pay bills as submitted.  MC

Old Business
Todd Coons gave an update on the road signs. Steve Madison reported on roads and the installation of  a culvert on Boyd Lane. 

Lee Huber gave an update on the Fire Committee. At the meeting it had been discussed that in the future the Spooner and Shell Lake Departments could be merging. As of right now there both will stay separate entities. 

New Business  
Jason Towne, the Director of Land Services and Zoning of Burnett County, attended the meeting due to the request of changing in zoning on Boyd Lane. He explained the process and the options for that specific property. After a lengthy discussion, the board determined that they would be further investigating zoning within the township and what it would look like in the future. 

Rebecca Odden will create the Fall newsletter and will post it on the town’s website. 

Budget review-Overall, the initial draft looks good, but it will be reviewed again in November. The date for the budget hearing and town levy meeting will be Tuesday, November 15th due to the election on November 8th.

There was a motion by Lee Huber, 2nd by Tyler Odden to adjourn the meeting at 8:34. MC
Announcements

The November meeting will be on Wednesday, November 13th following the budget hearing and town levy meeting.  

Public budget hearing and town levy meeting will be Wednesday, November 13th @ 7:00 pm @ Timberland Lutheran Church.
