Minutes of the
REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
July 10, 2024
Timberland Lutheran Church, 20805 County Road H, Barronett

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lee Huber at 7:05 pm.

Present: Todd Coons, Lee Huber, Becca Odden, Tyler Odden, Serena Fankhauser, Wayne Romsos, Steve Madison

There was a motion by Lee Huber, 2nd by Tyler Odden, to accept the minutes from the previous regular meeting. MC

Public Input
Wayne Romsos commented that he had called and talked to the county about the brush cutting that had occurred the previous fall. At a previous meeting, the board had discussed why the county only brush cut, so far into the ditches. Wayne reported that it was due to a nesting law.
 
Treasurer’s Report
Cash on Hand as of July 31, 2024:  $218,936.85

Clerk’s Report
Checks #9175-9182 in the amount of $10,633.07 were presented for payment. There was a motion by Tyler Odden, 2nd   by Todd Coons to pay bills as submitted.  MC

Old Business
Envirotech will be applying the durablend in the next few weeks. Lee Huber had reached out to other townships, but none are going to participate at this time. They are possibly interested in the future. Todd Coons will be riding along when the Envirotech application is applied. 

The town’s gravel pit was discussed in length. After much discussion, there was a motion by Lee Huber, 2nd by Todd Coons, to have remaining gravel crushed and costs equaling no more than $50,000 including royalties. Steve Madsion will report back after finding out more details.

New Business 

The Timberland Bar has been sold to Willy Boe. The board reviewed Mr. Boe’s application for a liquor license and bartender’s license. Lee Huber made a motion to approve the applications  pending receiving payment. Todd Coons seconded the motion. MC.

The board has also filed a complaint with the DOR on the liquor license holder in the township. 

Lee Huber attended the monthly Fire Association meeting. He reported that the bylaws were revised and they held elections. Also, dues are now going to be paid bi-annually.

Next month's meeting will be Tuesday, August 16th at 7:00 p.m.

There was a motion by Tyler Odden, 2nd by Todd Coons, to adjourn the meeting at 8:06 pm. MC
